My own experiences have led me down the road to custom boat rigging. Through the years as a fishing guide many of my anglers came on board only to leave after the day of fishing wanting a set up like my own. Their request and my desire to please has branched into what is now Backcountry Concepts, where myself along with other creative personnel spend our time custom outfitting flats boats when we are not on the water ourselves.

Not wanting to settle for something less, just because it is not available is what inspires me to design and manufacture many of the products we use and sale. I know from my own experiences on the water what works and what doesn’t.

A typical custom job might consist of installing Trolling motors on our own custom transom brackets and connecting them to operate with our Air-Troll Systems, designed to allow operation of the Trolling Motors from any location on the boat. All of the wires are carefully secured and placed for optimum performance, ease of use and aesthetics.

We finish ends with marine grade connections and adhesive heat shrink to insure long use with minimum maintenance.

Batteries will be placed in trays or custom trays or dams will be made to ensure everything stays in it’s place. Shelves will be made for the console to increase surface use if needed.

A Poling platform designed for your boat and then matched with a Stiffy Pushpole and pushpole holders both on the gunnels as well as on the platform with a Tibor swivel holder make for manuvering your fishing grounds with ease. If you need more power or better engine performance we can install a manual or hydraulic Jack plate, Trim Tabs or a high performance prop.

Perhaps you like to record your travels on the water, if so we can equip you with a GPS so you can return to those successful spots next trip out.
